Store Manager - Massey

Join Hospice West Auckland as our Massey Store Manager and help our retail group generate funds to support the work we do. This is the perfect role for someone who is seeking an opportunity to showcase their sales, customer service and merchandising skills while making a difference to their community and to the environment.

A local to West Auckland, you understand and appreciate the great services that our organisation provides patients in our community. Our stores generate a large portion of the funding that enables us to do this - you can feel proud of your contribution.

You would be leading an amazing group of retail staff and volunteers to provide outstanding customer service, merchandising flare and achieve growth volume for your shop by meeting key sales targets.

This is a permanent, full-time position, working Tuesday - Saturday.

What does an average day look like?

Each day brings unique experiences and challenges, from providing support to your volunteer team to handling and sorting donated items for sale!

You will be responsible for a range of activities to help ensure the store runs smoothly by:

  • Helping to generate funds for Hospice West Auckland by ensuring financial targets for the store are achieved or exceeded
  • Serving as a role model to the staff and volunteer team, and ensuring they deliver an exceptional customer and donor experience
  • Ensuring compliance to maintain a safe and professional work environment
  • Working with the Retail Logistics and Operations Manager to ensure efficient management of incoming donations and stock flow to maximise shop sales
  • Leading, managing and developing staff and volunteers.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • At least five years of experience working in a retail setting
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • An understanding of basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft office
  • Demonstrated ability to meet sales targets and drive sales growth
  • Previous experience successfully managing and leading retail teams.

Training and Support into the exciting and diverse world of charity retailing will be provided.
