Aquatic Facilities Administrator

(Full time Fixed term)

Waimakariri District Council

  • Are you looking for a new challenge?
  • Do you thrive working within the community and love being a part of a team?

The Waimakariri District Council operates three Aquatic Facilities in the North Canterbury region including Dudley Park Aquatic Centre in Rangiora, Kaiapoi Aquatic Centre and Oxford Community Aquatic Centre.

From these facilities, we provide a high-level customer experience to a wide range of users ensuring that each facility is being utilised to its full potential.

We do this by offering high quality facilities and programming, including our WaiSwim Learn to Swim programme, delivering aquatic instruction to the individuals and students within our district.

To assist with this, the Council is currently seeking applications for Aquatic Administrator primarily based at Dudley Park Aquatic Centre. You will be working with a team to support the Aquatics leadership team and coordinate our Learn to Swim schools programme to primary aged students. This is a full time fixed term (maternity cover) role but due to the nature of working in with schools there is some degree of flexibility available for the right candidate.

As the Aquatics Administrator, you will be a passionate team player seeking a role, which provides direct contact with staff, our customers and the community. You will be great at communicating, breaking down ideas and build rapport with your team.

Industry experience and the ability to work with a diverse customer base would be of benefit. Previous experience teaching Learn to Swim is not essential but would be an advantage and the successful applicant will hold or be capable of achieving the Swim Teacher Award.

In return, we will provide you with the opportunity to make a difference in this community. We will work with you to develop your skills through ongoing training and provide opportunities to grow by learning skills in other areas of the business. You will help to grow recreation participation within the district and contribute to the growth and develop of your team. We offer a competitive remuneration package with flexible working arrangements, which allow for a great work life balance.
