Events Coordinator

About the role:

As our Events Coordinator you will get to plan and coordinate an annual schedule of Community Services and Facilities Group events in collaboration with the wider team and external organisations such as sponsors, local businesses and community groups. You'll own the event management process end to end with the guidance of our Senior Advisor Community Events.

You will be available Monday through Friday, but should be open to working weekends when events occur.

  • Build and foster a network of Selwyn event organisers to facilitate and encourage opportunities for collaboration.
  • Work on capacity building programmes for local residents and groups to assist them with fundraising, promotion, event planning and on the day delivery.
  • Respond to enquiries related to the online event application portal and monitor associated responses.
  • Assist with logistics that ensure the people, place and equipment are set up in the right place for a planned event.
  • Undertake administration tasks as required, including, but not limited to ticket sales/ issuing, processing orders, filing and cataloguing.

About you:

We are looking for an energetic individual who is passionate about community events, has excellent organisational skills and is eager to get hands on with the delivery of events.

You will also have:

  • 1-2 years experience working at medium to large scale events
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong customer focus / desire to meet exceed customer expectations.
  • Understanding of the health and safety planning and compliance
  • Studies in Event Management would be advantageous
