Fixed Term Retail Assistant - New Lynn

We are looking for a fixed term, part time retail assistant to provide parental leave cover for our New Lynn Store. You must be available to start ASAP, and work for approximatley 6 months. Learn a range of transferable skills, meet fun and interesting people, and gain great work experience on your CV.
About us: Hospice West Auckland is a wrap-around specialist palliative care service, caring for patients who are at the end of their life and their families and whānau. We provide both health care (specialist doctors, nurses, social workers, and other health professionals) and social care (counselling, music and art therapy, spiritual care, and integrative therapies) to help patients live every moment to the fullest. Our care is offered at no cost to patients and families, so one way we raise funds for the critical work we do is through our fabulous retail stores.
About you: You are keen to join a meaningful retail team, you love to sell, and understand excellence in customer service. You thrive in a busy, interactive, and diverse environment, making sure the store always looks appealing. You are keen to actively sell goods in order to meet the store's financial targets and can move them effectively and efficiently through the store (sort, clean, relocate, display and sell merchandise).
To be successful in this position you will have:
- Previous retail experience in fashion, accessories, footwear, homewares, furniture, or second-hand goods as an advantage
- Familiarity with using an electronic point of sale system (Vend preferred)
- Proven exceptional customer service and sales skills
- Reliable transport to work (your own car is needed)
