Ground Maintenance Positions

We have maintenance positions available in Dunedin working in the great outdoors.
These roles provide plenty of variety and is best suited to candidates who are self-motivated and is able to work in a small team environment who take pride in the quality and service levels they provide to our customers.
We have a strong focus on quality, health and safety and the environment and the successful applicant will have an important role in maintaining this culture.
Successful candidates will possess the following:
Mower Operator
- Availability to work Monday to Friday
- Full NZ Driver's License, Class 2 an advantage
- Basic mechanical knowledge
- Previous experience in operating various types of mowers in a contract environment
- Experience with weed trimmers and edging equipment
- Previous experience is preferred, however for the right candidate training will be provided
Gardener
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in Horticulture.
- Experience working in Horticulture or facilities garden maintenance.
- Growsafe and experience in use of agrichemicals.
- Experience in use of hand operated gardening equipment.
- Full current drivers' licence, Class 2 licence an advantage.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Deliver contract specifications to timeframes and to a high standard
- Good communication skills
- The ability to work in a small team environment and share a variety of tasks
- Confident, positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Present and operate professionally at all times, as you will be working in public areas
Whitestone Contracting Ltd is an award-winning company that carries out a wide range of contracting work across Otago, Canterbury, and Southland. We have depots in, Alexandra, Twizel, Fairlie, with our head office in Oamaru. We hold various maintenance contracts for Roading, Water and Wastewater as well as being a strong performer in the Civil/Construction, Surfacing, Landscaping and Vegetation control sectors.
