About the Role
As an International Student Liaison Guide, you'll be the heart and soul of a vibrant cultural experience for up to 20 international students. With the support of volunteers, schools, and another contractor during peak periods, your mission is to ensure the programme is safe, fun, and unforgettable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and Care: Provide exceptional support for students, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and enjoyment.
- Plan and Organize: Assist with risk assessments (RAMs) and prepare for each leg of the programme.
- Engage with Culture: Coordinate orientations, attend school lessons, and facilitate a stay at a Māori marae at Tokoroa High School.
- Explore NZ: Take students to iconic tourist destinations like Hobbiton, Skyline Rotorua, and the Sky Tower in Auckland.
- Collaborate: Work closely with schools, volunteers, and another contractor to deliver a seamless programme.
- Hands-On Support: Help with meals and transportation, including driving a van when needed.
What We're Looking For
- Experience with Teenagers: Background as a relief teacher, international student coordinator, or youth programme leader is a plus.
- Cultural Sensitivity: Enthusiasm for sharing Kiwi culture and connecting with international students.
- Adaptability & Leadership: Quick thinking, calm under pressure, and confident in managing groups.
- Full Driver's License: Comfortable driving a van.
- Bonus Skills: A background in teaching, tourism, or running similar programmes.
