Horizon Networks is growing into a national services provider - and due to this exciting growth we are looking for a Line Mechanic Team Leader to join our growing team in Whakatane. This position is permanent full-time, 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Field-based role - responsible for repairs and maintenance of overhead and underground ppower services under normal and fault conditions.
  • Manage the day to day operations of a Lines Team in the field, ensuring projects are undertaken in a timely, safely and cost effective manner.
  • Ensure forward works are planned, scheduled, costed and resourced in order to optimise the performance of the team.
  • Build strong long term relationships with our customers ensuring they see Horizon Services as a preferred supplier with excellent customer service and technical support.

To be successful, a candidate is preferred to have the following qualifications, experience and skills:

  • A current NZ EWRB Practising Licence along with a NZ Line Mechanic Qualification is essential
  • A current Unrestricted Manual NZ Driver Licence, including heavy traffic is also essential
  • Live line experience would be an advantage but not essential
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years post qualification experience in directly relevant activities
  • Familiar with distribution systems and associated procedures up to and including 33kV
  • Knowledge of tree compliance regulations and vegetation management procedures desirable
  • Knowledge of all relevant industry rules and regulations including the Health & Safety at Work Act 2015, SMEI's and business SWPs, SOP's
