About the Role
The Community Services & Facilities Group is the externally facing group of Selwyn District Council that facilitates and delivers community opportunities, experiences, services and programmes to build the capacity, connection, and overall well-being of the community.
This is achieved through services and programmes including aquatics, arts, culture and lifelong learning, community and economic development activities, community centres and halls, events, funding, libraries/service centres, and sports and fitness activities.
As our Senior Venue and Events Coordinator, you will play an important part in growing community usage across our network of facilities by supporting the Operations Manager with day-to-day activities such as scheduling maintenance, tracking budget spend, event management and venue presentation. There are 2 vacancies for the Senior Venue and Events, one primarily based out of Lincon Events Centre and the other based at Rolleston Community Centre.
You'll also be responsible for:
- Responding to customer enquiries and bookings.
- Getting things ready, setting up and packing down the hired spaces.
- Administrative tasks such as invoicing, marketing and communication.
- Building positive relationships customers and colleagues.
About you
Motivated and a great communicator you have experience working with a wide variety of customers and enjoy building purposeful relationships. You are organised and practical with an understanding of facility operation and demonstrable experience in event management and delivery.
You will also be able to:
- Experience in delivering high quality events and facility management.
- Be digital savvy, with the ability to learn new technology quickly while having experience with Microsoft Office.
- Be confident and resilient team player with positive attitude and sense of humour.
- Hold a Full Driving License
