Whitestone Contracting Ltd is an award-winning company that carries out a wide range of contracting work across Otago, Canterbury and Southland. We have depots in Cromwell, Alexandra, Twizel, Tekapo, Fairlie, Waimate with our head office in Oamaru. We hold various maintenance contracts for Roading, Water and Wastewater as well as being a strong performer in the Civil/Construction, Surfacing, Landscaping and Vegetation control sectors.
This role is a new opportunity in the business and would suit an experienced Landscaping and/or Civil Construction Project Manager that will bring additional tendering and project management capacity to our Central Otago Projects team.
Our Central Otago Projects department have established themselves with a skilled and highly capable team, and this role offers the right candidate fantastic career development opportunities with a pathway to a Divisional Mangers role which will be needed in the future as the business continues to grow.
This role would report to and be well supported by the Regional Manager for Central Otago, who is also Cromwell based.
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead pricing, planning and tendering for a wide range of projects and management of resources within budget while also ensuring that all targets are met, safely
- Identify and solve problems/faults in the field
- Manage project resources
- Risk and opportunity analysis and management
- Develop efficient work teams
- Ensure progress of projects is on track using appropriate technologies
Skills & Experience Required:
- BE, NZCE (Civil) or Diploma in Engineering or equivalent technical qualification preferred, but similar industry experience may be considered.
- Experience in Project Management of civil construction, roading & 3 waters projects is preferred but not essential (similar industry experience will be considered).
- Experience in Tendering in Local Authority's, NZTA and private works preferred but not essential
- Competent to a high level of computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Project
- Being adaptable, flexible and having the capacity to cope with multiple issues
- Commitment to the highest standards of health and safety
- The ability to meet targets and objectives
