About the role
Our community loves to swim, and we work with children of preschool and school age across a range of weekday mornings and afternoons and one weekend morning shifts. This is an active role where you will contribute to our community through helping children develop essential life skills.
- Having a qualification and experience in swim teaching along with a current first aid certificate is desirable; however, fully paid training available, and we will support successful candidates in gaining a nationally recognised qualification.
- Enjoy an active role in our modern Aquatic Centre where you will play an important part in providing our community with the skills they need when in and around water.
- Selwyn Aquatic Centre are seeking to employ motivated, energetic instructors to join our fun and passionate Learn to Swim Team
- As a Swim School Instructor, you will be responsible for; planning structured and engaging lessons, teaching with encouragement and positive reinforcement, assessing participants to ensure they are improving their swimming ability and reaching milestones.
The hours are a set roster 28.25 hours per week, extra hours may be available to cover leave or extra classes.
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 11:45am-2:45pm and then 3:15pm-6:15pm
Sunday 8.15am-1:00pm (includes a 30 - minute unpaid break)
About you
To be successful in this role you will be committed to completing all training required, be comfortable working with preschool and school-aged children, committed to working positively within a team and value the importance of swim safety.
