Godfrey Hirst is seeking a Health and Safety Officer to join our team in Wiri, Auckland. This full time role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with a couple of years' experience in Health and Safety who is looking to take their career to the next level.

About the Role
In this dynamic role, you will immerse yourself in creating a safer, more engaged workplace. The majority of your time will focus on championing health and safety initiatives, including rolling out our flagship Zero Harm Program. You'll collaborate closely with managers across the organisation, leading impactful training sessions that empower them to integrate safety practices into their teams' daily routines. Your mission is to inspire a cultural shift, building trust and rapport as you guide managers through the program's implementation.
You'll also play a pivotal role in supporting our manufacturing team of 130 staff. From recruitment to providing new staff inductions and onboarding, you'll ensure each team member is set up for success. You'll keep certifications like forklift licenses current, and oversee training programs that equip employees with the skills they need to thrive while maintaining compliance. You will also be involved in annual health and safety audits and ISO compliance.

What We're Looking For
- Experience: At least 2 years in a Health and Safety role with formal qualifications (essential).
- Background: Manufacturing or logistics experience preferred.
- Skills: Strong communication and people skills with the ability to build trust and rapport.
- Attitude: Confident yet approachable, with a passion for professional growth and leadership.
