We're looking for a dedicated and culturally adept professional to join our team as a Senior Māori Land Advisor. This pivotal role is your chance to strengthen relationships with tangata whenua, manage and recover rates and water arrears, and guide the implementation of legislative frameworks that honour Te Ao Māori and promote community well-being.

What You'll Do:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Iwi, hapū, and Māori landowners.
- Ensure effective communication around rates and water arrears in alignment with Council policies and statutory requirements.
- Provide assistance with the negotiation of time payment arrangements.
- Provide guidance on legislative matters, including the Local Government (Rating) Act 2002 and the Local Government Rating of Whenua Māori Amendment Act 2021.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to improve systems and processes.
- Promote and uphold cultural protocols while supporting Council objectives.
What You'll Bring:
- A Diploma or Certificate in Business Studies (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in stakeholder engagement, with a strong understanding of tikanga Māori, Te Reo Māori, and Treaty of Waitangi principles.
- Exceptional leadership and highly developed interpersonal skills
- Expertise in documentation, administration, and debt management, preferably within Local Government.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and an eye for detail.
- A full driver's license and flexibility to work overtime if required.
