Our amazing People and Culture team are on the hunt for a fixed-term part-time Business Partner to look after a dedicated portfolio as well as contributing to team case work. Hours will be 15-17 hours (2-3 days) per week starting on a 3-4-month fixed term contract with the possibility of developing into permanent part-time.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Provide support and guidance to managers in recruitment, performance management and employment relations, remuneration and change management
- Stay informed on People and Culture policies and processes and advise management accordingly
- Build strong relationships with Council managers, employees, and unions
- Liaise with internal teams on employee offers, changes, and resignations
What you will bring:
- Genuine interest in Employment Relations case work
- Strong communicator and team player who keeps colleagues up to date
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or related discipline, or significant relevant experience
- Practical working experience as a generalist HR practitioner of at least 5 years
- Ability to coach, and mentor people leaders
- A sound understanding and working knowledge of current employee and industrial relations, NZ employment law and HR best practice
- Competent user of Microsoft products, HR and document management systems
