Performance Delivery Lead

About the role:

As the Performance Delivery Lead, you will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of major programmes and projects across the Council. You'll be responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of cross-functional initiatives designed to enhance our service delivery and meet the Council's strategic goals.

This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive leader with a track record in programme delivery to help shape and improve the services we provide to the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple high-profile programmes. Work with Programme and Project Managers (PMO) to ensure effective coordination and successful project delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including elected members, senior management, community groups, contractors, and others.
  • Guide and mentor cross-functional teams, providing support to ensure the delivery of key targets.
  • Identify risks and proactively manage issues. Oversee programme finances, ensuring delivery within budget.
  • Champion best practices and drive the continuous enhancement of programme management processes within the Council.

About you:

With over 8 years of experience in programme and project management, including a proven track record of successfully leading complex initiatives, you'll bring a deep understanding of programme management methodologies like PRINCE2, Agile, and PMBOK. You'll also have demonstrated expertise in managing large budgets and resources, along with a solid grasp of financial management principles.

You will also have:

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to manage relationships with senior leadership, elected members, and external partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage risks, issues, and changes effectively in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Strategic thinker with a strong focus on results and outcomes.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a pragmatic approach
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
  • A collaborative and adaptable leadership style, with a focus on fostering team success.
