Our client, Whitehead Plumbing & Gas Limited, is a locally owned and operated Plumbing business with over 30 years' experience within the plumbing, drain laying and gas fitting business based in Christchurch. WPG are big enough to handle any job, yet small enough to care about every job.

Due to a targeted business plan to move the business to the next level, Whitehead Plumbing & Gas are seeking to employ the newly created role of Quantity Surveyor to complete their management team. This position will play a key role in supporting and growing the ongoing success of the Company's plumbing projects.

The Quantity Surveyor role plays a pivotal role in managing the financial and contractual aspects of commercial plumbing, drainage, civil, and luxury housing projects. Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing detailed cost estimates
• Delivering accurate quotes and tenders
• Ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards

The role requires strong collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders, effective use of systems like Groundplan and Simpro, and a focus on minimizing financial risks while maximizing profitability.

What we are looking for:

• A suitable qualification in Quantity Surveying.
• 3+ years of experience in the construction industry, ideally in plumbing, drainage, and civil projects.
• Proficiency in Simpro, Groundplan, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong knowledge of New Zealand construction regulations.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Integrity and transparent communication.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong relationship management and negotiation skills.
• Commitment to professional growth and adoption of new tools.
