Project Manager - Capital Works

Are you an experienced project management professional ready to drive capital projects to successful completion? Join our dynamic PMO team to deliver our portfolio of capital projects - from shovel-ready initiatives to those already in progress.
About the Role
The primary focus of this role is on executing and delivering established medium to large-scale construction projects, ensuring they meet their objectives and create lasting value for our district. While most projects will be at implementation stage, you'll also have opportunities to contribute to projects in their early planning phases. You'll manage a diverse portfolio of projects, working closely with stakeholders to bring approved plans to life.
What You'll Do
- Lead comprehensive project management services for significant construction and capital projects
- Manage procurement, contract administration, and stakeholder engagement for projects transitioning into construction
- Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, community groups, and key stakeholders
- Implement effective governance structures and mentor project teams
- Ensure compliance with Council policies and industry best practices
What You'll Bring
- 5+ years of project management experience, with emphasis on contract management
- Proven track record in managing medium to large-scale construction projects
- Strong knowledge of contract law and best practices
- Outstanding leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
