What You'll Do:

As a Land Transport Officer - Cadet, you'll be hands-on in ensuring Wairoa's roads and footpaths remain safe and well-maintained. You'll assist with inspecting roads, supporting transport projects, and helping to manage essential maintenance work. From reviewing traffic management plans to coordinating road closures, you'll play a key role in keeping the community moving. You'll also gain experience working with contractors, monitoring project progress, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

• A willingness to learn and take direction in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and an interest in infrastructure and transport.
• Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office.
• NCEA Level 3, with strengths in Maths and Science.
• A NZ Restricted Driver's Licence (or ability to obtain one).
