Tasman District Council is committed to providing a safe thriving work environment. As Team Leader in Health and Safety, you will play a valuable role in supporting the health and safety of our people.
Things we will trust you with:
In this role you will influence and contribute to the strategic decision making on health and safety matters and supporting the Council to deliver its health and safety strategic plan. You will also lead and manage a dedicated team and deliver ongoing improvements to the Council's health and safety capabilities.
You will be responsible for:
- Developing, implementing, and monitoring a programme of health and safety audits.
- Developing and delivering education and improvement programmes.
- Carrying out regular risk assessments, safety observations and leading any workplace investigations.
- Coaching people leaders on good health and safety practices and ensuring appropriate systems are in the place.
Things you will be proud of:
We are looking for someone who has a recognised degree or graduate level qualification in health and safety and proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role. You will bring an in-depth knowledge of New Zealand health and safety legislation and regulations.
Your strong analytical skills and ability to identify and mitigate risks will be key to this role alongside your problem-solving mindset. You will have experience engaging with a diverse range of people and stakeholders.
