Due to an increased workload and a desire to improve the level of service to our clients we have a position in our Building Control team for an inspector. We are looking for someone who has at least R1 Competency (no restrictions) in inspections, Reg 18 and has working knowledge of the Building Act statutory requirements.

Mō te tūranga | About the role

Although this role would predominantly focus on inspections, you would also be required to review consent applications in accordance with statutory requirements and Council's policies and respond to enquiries.

Tō Kōrero | About You

Critical to success will be the ability to communicate effectively with all types of people. This will require good negotiation skills and the ability to develop good industry relationships.

Competency Assessment R1-C1. A sound knowledge of Building legislation, Reg 18 qualification, NZ National Diploma Level 6 (3 year diploma) and relevant experience will be essential to be successful in this role.
