Kaipara District Council
Ready to bring your coordination skills to a role that's all about connection, creativity, and creating great experiences?
Join a team that values community, collaboration, and a positive working environment! We're looking for an organised and proactive Events Coordinator who thrives on variety and enjoys making things happen. - Be part of a supportive, tight-knit organisation with excellent leadership.
- Enjoy a collaborative work environment and a range of well-being initiatives.
- Benefit from the flexibility of 24 hours per week, hybrid working options, and the choice to be based in either Mangawhai or Dargaville.
About the Role
As Events Coordinator, you'll play a key role in supporting both Council-led and community events across Kaipara. From planning and approvals through to logistics and post-event reviews, you'll offer guidance, coordination, and practical support to help make each event a success.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating the end-to-end process for events on Council and non-Council assets, including managing bookings and catering, and providing onsite support.
- Acting as the main point of contact for internal and external stakeholders during the event planning process.
- Improving event processes and tools to ensure they're accessible, user-friendly, and up to date.
- Assisting with the delivery of Council's Citizens & Environmental Awards.
About You
We're looking for a motivated, detail-oriented team player who enjoys working with people and getting things done.
You'll bring:
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in administration and customer service.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a willingness to learn new systems as needed.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a focus on delivering customer-centric solutions.
- The ability to stay organised and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Experience in event coordination or project management would be a plus, but a proactive attitude and enthusiasm to learn are key!

- Flexible working options to support work-life balance
- A fun, supportive and diverse team environment
- Learning and development opportunities
- Health and wellbeing initiatives, including regular wellbeing challenges and free fruit in the office
