Infrastructure Officer - Parks & Open Spaces

  • This is a fixed-term, full-time role through to 15 July 2026, based in Dargaville with flexible work-from-home options.

About the role:

As the Infrastructure Officer - Parks & Open Spaces, you will be responsible for:

  • Preparing specifications and supporting the maintenance and development of parks, reserves, cemeteries, playgrounds, public toilets, and wharves to provide enjoyable spaces for all.
  • Managing contracts and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and contractors, ensuring work quality meets Council standards and aligns with organisational goals.
  • Identifying and driving improvements in parks and open spaces, with a focus on sustainability and biodiversity.
  • Coordinating responses to customer issues and working with suppliers and contractors to ensure solutions align with work programmes and organisational efficiency.
  • Contributing to asset management data and health and safety systems to uphold compliance and best practices.

About you:

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Experience in parks & recreation and in managing customer and supplier relationships
  • Contract or project management experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft products
  • Up-to-date Health and Safety knowledge
  • The ability to work independently
  • A valid New Zealand driver's license
