Vegetation Liaison Officer

Horizon Networks, a trusted division of the multi-disciplined Horizon Energy Group, serves the Eastern Bay of Plenty community with reliable electricity. Based in Whakatane, we are recruiting for a Vegetation Liaison Officer.

Reporting to the Field Services Manager, it will be your responsibility to:

  • Patrol and assess vegetation around the Horizon Network Assets, including by drone or helicopter when necessary
  • Report any vegetation that requires attention to Vegetation Coordinator and provide accurate data & information to ensure efficient planning of works
  • Assess faults or call-outs due to vegetation encroaching on Network Assets
  • Undertake vegetation customer liaison communication on behalf of Horizon Networks

To be successful a candidate will require the following qualifications and experience:

  • A formal qualification as an Arborist or a Line Mechanic is desirable but not essential - training can be provided to the right candidate
  • Current Manual NZ Drivers Licence
  • Confident and capable working alone, sometimes in remote locations.
  • Technologically literate, including with handheld devices
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build customer relationships
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to deliver quality results within defined deadlines
  • Quick thinker and able to show initiative
  • Ability to manage time effectively and to prioritise workloads effectively
