We have a great opportunity for a motivated, and highly organised Technician to join our busy workshop in Seaview, Wellington.
The successful applicant will need to be enthusiastic and have sound mechanical knowledge. You will be meticulous in diagnosing, repairing and maintenance of a range of heavy commercial vehicles. Strict timelines need to be adhered to whilst being focused on delivering a high standard. And most importantly, you'll be joining a key player in the transport industry - your key, to a career that takes you where you want to go.
To join our elite team, you'll need:
- A strong foundation in heavy automotive, with a technical qualification or 3+ years of experience.
- A meticulous approach and a commitment to quality.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- A clean driver's license with minimum classes 1-2L. We'll continue to help you progress to a Class 5 license if needed!
Day to day responsibilities include:
- Using your skills and knowledge to quickly and accurately diagnose the problem.
- Liaising with the service department as required
- Seeking approval from customer/service department to repair vehicle.
- Using correct tools for the job install parts, equipment, wiring or programs to meet specifications.
- Performing routine maintenance on vehicles, determining when and what kind of work is required.
- Carry out service and repairs to vehicles in accordance with the times laid down by the Flat Rate Manual or those set by the Service Manager.
- Keep all records up to date and in a timely manner.
- To keep your work knowledge of vehicles up to date and to be able to carry out servicing, repairs, adjusting, and testing machines, devices, moving parts and equipment.
- Carry out your work in accordance with our health and safety procedures and much more!
