Reporting to the Manager - Aquatic Services, you'll take the lead in managing a dedicated team of lifeguards to ensure the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of our aquatic facility. In this dynamic role, you'll be responsible for managing rosters, mentoring staff, and making sure lifeguards are always in the right place at the right time. You'll help uphold a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all visitors, ensuring our pool supervision and customer service standards stay top-notch.
What you'll do:
- Supervise and coach lifeguards to ensure they perform their duties effectively and maintain the highest standards of safety and professionalism.
- Manage staff rosters to guarantee appropriate poolside coverage at all times, ensuring the facility operates smoothly and safely.
- Oversee daily facility operations, you will enforce safety protocols and respond promptly to any incidents or concerns.
- Lead comprehensive training and development programs, including new staff inductions and ongoing compliance certifications, to keep the team skilled and up to date with industry standards.
- Promote a strong culture of exceptional customer service and foster a safe, welcoming, and positive environment for both visitors and staff.
What you'll bring:
- A level 5 qualification in management or a related field
- Current First Aid Certificate and National Lifeguard Award
- Minimum of 3 years' leadership experience, ideally in staff management, training, and performance development
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to organise, multitask, and work well under pressure
While it is essential to hold a National Lifeguard Award (Level 3) and Current First Aid Certificate for this position, we are committed to supporting the right candidate in achieving them through training and development if they are not already held.

This is a permanent full-time position working 40 hours per week, between the hours of 8.00am - 5.00pm Monday - Friday, both days inclusive.
