The Manager Library Experience is a champion of inclusive, innovative, and engaging library services across the Whakatāne District. You'll lead a dedicated team and work alongside community partners to create vibrant library spaces and services that promote literacy, digital inclusion, and lifelong learning. This role combines strategic thinking with hands-on leadership to deliver responsive, future-focused library programmes and collections that meet the needs of all community members.

You bring at least five years' leadership experience in library or community-focused environments, and you're driven by equity in access to knowledge
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Tertiary qualification in library and information studies or a related field
- At least 5 years' experience in a senior library or community-focused role
- Proven strategic and operational leadership in library services
- Experience delivering inclusive programmes supporting literacy, digital fluency, and lifelong learning
- Strong knowledge of contemporary library practices and emerging trends
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse communities
- Demonstrated commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and cultural competency in working with Māori
- Innovative, people-focused, and collaborative approach to service delivery
- Strong analytical, organisational, and financial management skills.
