Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role
This exciting new role leads the development of public programmes, digital capability, and marketing and promotions across Whakatāne District's arts, library, and heritage services. As Team Leader, you'll manage a multidisciplinary team to design and deliver offerings that grow engagement, increase access, and tell compelling stories across digital and physical platforms that draw people to this unique place. You'll also champion new ways of connecting with communities through technology, content, and collaborative experiences.

You are digitally savvy, creative, and collaborative, with a strong background in marketing, communications, or digital engagement — ideally in the cultural, education, or public sector.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Tertiary qualification in marketing, communications, digital technology, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years' experience in leading teams and managing projects
- Proven experience in marketing, promotions, or programme development — ideally within arts, culture, or the public sector
- Proficiency in digital marketing tools, content creation, and social media management
- Strong relationship and stakeholder engagement skills, especially with iwi and community organisations
- Understanding of tikanga Māori and cultural competency in communications
- High-level organisational, analytical, and financial management skills
- Creative, adaptable, and collaborative team player who values diversity and inclusion.
