Are you a strategic thinker with a strong engineering background and a passion for transport infrastructure? Our Roading team is looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Asset Management Lead to guide the planning and performance of Kaipara's local road network. You'll lead a skilled team focused on renewals and maintenance planning, ensuring investment decisions are data-driven, future-focused, and aligned with Council's long-term goals.

About the opportunity:
As the Asset Management Lead - Roading, you will:
- Lead a team responsible for asset management planning, including development of renewals and maintenance programmes.
- Provide strategic oversight of the roading network, including Forward Works Programmes and alignment with budgets.
- Oversee business case development and funding applications for national and local transport plans.
- Champion continuous improvement through smart data use, systems (such as RAMM), and technology.
- Build strong relationships with contractors, consultants, and internal teams to drive collaboration and performance.
About you:
We're looking for a confident and strategic leader with a strong technical background and a collaborative mindset. You'll bring clear thinking, sound judgement, and the ability to guide your team and influence across the organisation.
You'll bring:
- An engineering or asset management qualification (NZCE, Diploma, or Degree), with BE, CMEngNZ, or CPEng preferred.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience, including road asset management planning and renewals.
- Proven ability to lead and deliver effective asset management programmes and business cases.
- Experience with local government operations, funding processes, and transport strategies.
- Proficiency in asset management tools (RAMM preferred) and excellent communication skills.
