McKechnie Aluminium is a respected Kiwi manufacturer with over 65 years of success behind it. Known for delivering custom aluminium extrusion and fabrication solutions, the business partners with clients across many industries to turn concepts into reality.

Our fabrication division is expanding, and with it comes an opportunity for a skilled sales professional to grow into something more, a true partner to your customers, not just a supplier.

About the Role

This is far more than just managing a territory. You'll become the link between the customer and the factory, managing projects end to end. You'll quote and propose, problem-solve and plan, while still maintaining a strong on-the-road presence.

A typical week will be a mix of customer visits, following up new opportunities, collaborating with the factory and fabrication team, and making sure every detail of the sales process is on track right through to delivery. You'll use tools like Sugar CRM and Excel to support your workflow, but it's your natural curiosity, commercial thinking, and drive to follow through that will make you successful.

What We're Looking For

You may already be in a sales or account management role and want to step up. Or you may be a KAM looking for more technical depth and variety. Either way, we're looking for someone who:

  • Has experience managing customer relationships and driving growth
  • Is commercially astute and comfortable working with numbers and systems
  • Understands that detail matters, especially in manufacturing
  • Can balance both new business and account management
  • Wants to be part of a supportive team and contribute to a long-term vision

Experience in technical sales, fabrication, or manufacturing is a plus, but what matters most is your mindset. You're not here to just ‘sell'. You're here to add value, build trust, and grow with a business that's as invested in you as you are in your clients.
