Invercargill City Council are seeking an enthusiastic, driven and collaborative individual to join our Planning team on a permanent full-time basis.
What you'll do:
- Provide accurate, professional advice on planning related matters and enquiries seeking input from other Council departments where relevant.
- Check building consent applications to ensure compliance with the planning rules and advise applicants when resource consent is required
- Assess and process resource consent applications against provisions of the District Plan, Resource Management Act and other relevant planning documents
- Provide high quality advice to the community and customers
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure delivery of environmental and community-appropriate outcomes.
What you'll bring:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in a resource management related field
- 2-5 years' experience in resource management (policy, consents, or similar)
- Knowledge and understanding of the Resource Management Act (RMA) and other relevant legislation
- Report writing skills with the ability to produce clear, well-structured planning documents
- Demonstrated track record of delivering customer-focused services
