Community Activator

We're seeking a dynamic and community-focused individual to join our team as a Community Activator. As a key member of our team, you'll work closely with local residents, community groups, and stakeholders to design and deliver initiatives that promote social cohesion, community engagement, and positive change.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement community development projects that address local needs and priorities
• Build and maintain relationships with community groups, organizations, and stakeholders
• Facilitate community engagement and participation in planning and decision-making processes
• Provide training and capacity-building support to community groups and volunteers
• Identify and pursue funding opportunities to support community initiatives
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver effective community programs
• Monitor and evaluate project outcomes and impacts
To be successful in this role, you'll be someone who has:
• Proven experience in community development, community engagement, or a related field
• A tertiary qualification in a relevant field (e.g., community development, social work, public health)
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and project management skills
• Ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders
• Knowledge of the Whanganui community and its dynamics (desirable)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities
