Qualified Mechanic or Apprentice

Whitestone Contracting has a vacancy for an experienced Mechanic or a motivated apprentice who is willing to "learn on the job", to join our workshop in Deborah, Oamaru.
Having a diverse range of both heavy and light machinery, this role is well suited to someone who enjoys a challenge! This role will provide plenty of variety along with the freedom of working both in a workshop and out on worksites throughout our region.
We have a strong focus on quality, health & safety and the environment and the successful applicants will have an important role in maintaining this culture.
You will need to demonstrate the following attributes:
- Physically fit
- A mechanical trade certificate or technical aptitude
- Experience working on a variety of heavy machinery
- Class 1 licence.
- Class 1,2,3,4, & 5 licences with WTR and DG endorsement would be an advantage
- Welding experience would also be an advantage
We are looking for people who have/are:
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Focused on quality workmanship with good problem-solving skills
- Strong health and safety practices
- Ability to follow scheduled work programs and complete required paperwork
- Who can work as part of a team or independently
- Who are self-motivated and have initiative
