Swim School - Instructor

About the role

Our community loves to swim, and we proudly work with preschool- and school-aged children during weekday mornings, afternoons, and weekend mornings. This is an active and rewarding role where you will contribute to our community through helping children develop essential life skills.

  • While previous experience, a swim teaching qualification, and a current first aid certificate is highly valued, all successful applicants must complete our fully funded in-house training program as a requirement of the role.
  • Enjoy an active role in our modern Aquatic Centre where you will play an important part in providing our community with the skills they need when in and around water.
  • Selwyn Aquatic Centre are seeking to employ a motivated, energetic instructor to join our fun and passionate Learn to Swim Team.
  • As a Swim School Instructor, you will be responsible for; planning structured and engaging lessons, teaching with encouragement and positive reinforcement, assessing participants to ensure they are improving their swimming ability and reaching milestones.

The role is on a permanent part-time basis, 28.25 hours per week. Extra hours may be available to cover leave or additional classes.

  • Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday - 11:45am-2:45pm and then 3:15pm-6:15pm
  • Sunday 8.15am - 1.00pm

About you

To be successful in this role you will be committed to completing all training required, be comfortable working with preschool and school-aged children, committed to working positively within a team and value the importance of swim safety.
