We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated building control professional with proven excellent customer service.
Our building control officers provide high quality, responsive building code inspection and certification services to ratepayers, public and external clients. As a member of our team you will be advising and assisting clients on building consent related matters, including the inspection of building consent applications while working within the legislative framework of the Building Act and Resource Management Act.
To be considered for this role you will:
- Hold a Regulation 18 qualification detailed in the New Zealand Building (Accreditation of Building Consent Authorities) Regulations 2006 and have a sound understanding of the Building Act 2004, New Zealand Building code and any other relevant legislation.
- Demonstrate experience in a wide range of building control functions; including undertaking inspections out in the field. You will possess a good level of current technical building knowledge and current competency assessment and have a strong knowledge of the NZ Building Act, Building Code, BCA Accreditation Regulations and other relevant legislation.
- Be a good communicator who can build and maintain relationships. You'll use your knowledge and experience to engage with customers and provide consistent and high level technical advice. Your ability to make sound decision and your working knowledge of the Building Act and NZ Building Code will be crucial in this role.
