Third Party Works Advisor (Roading Network)

About the role:

As a member of the Transportation Delivery Team, the Third-Party Works Advisor will be responsible for the management of all third party works completed on council's roading infrastructure. This position will ensure third party works meet all operating parameters as required under relevant NZ standards, Engineering Code of Practice (ECoP), Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) and regulatory consent conditions, the key areas are:

  • Monitor, inspect and audit third party work: Ensure that roading assets are constructed to Councils design standard specifications by inspecting and auditing third party workmanship
  • Monthly reporting: Prepare and present reports relating to all third-party work that have 6 months or less defects liability period remaining
  • Road Maintenance Auditing: Assist the Road Maintenance Engineer with monthly auditing of all matters arising from, or relating to the performance and cost of the contract works completed and claimed in the road maintenance contract.
  • Coordination of third-party Quality Assurance (QA): Review third party documentation to ensure all relevant QA documentation is captured and linked to the relevant work
  • TTM auditing: Audit of TTM at worksites in accordance with the New Zealand Guide for Temporary Traffic Management (NZGTTM) standards
  • Relationship Management: Provide service delivery advice and input to inform key resources on relevant issues to internal and external stakeholders as required

About you:

You will need to be a confident person that can deliver the message professionally. You will have a natural ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. The must haves for this role are - Positive Attitude- Excellent Work Ethic- Willingness to Learn- we can train you in the role specifications.

You will also have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, or similar field, this role is ideal for a graduate who wants to put their degree to work.
  • An enthusiasm for road maintenance and road safety.
  • Exemplary communication skills such as relationship building and maintaining is key in being successful in this role.
  • Excellent ability to write informative reports that are clear and concise for stakeholders.
  • A high level of digital literacy is required for quality assurance documentation.
  • A full clean driver's license and a high level of digital literacy, RAMM experience would be highly regarded.
