Te Unua Museum of Southland is seeking an organised and proactive Arts, Culture and Heritage Administrator to support the delivery of vibrant cultural programmes and heritage initiatives across Invercargill.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of Te Unua - a new, landmark cultural destination; and to help shape the cultural landscape of our city and region through high-quality administrative support, stakeholder engagement, and project coordination.

What you will do:

  • Provide high-quality administrative and secretarial support for Museum and Heritage Services.
  • Support the creation of key planning documents and reports relating to Invercargill City Council's arts, culture and heritage activities.
  • Coordinate bookings, managing correspondence and customer enquiries, maintaining records and systems and supporting financial processes.
  • Assist with project delivery activities, and stakeholder and community engagement initiatives.

What you will bring:

  • A tertiary qualification in History, Arts or a related discipline (Museum Studies desirable).
  • 3-5 years' experience in a similar administrative role.
  • Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills.
  • Financial literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with meeting procedures and minute-taking.
  • A passion for heritage and the arts and delivering community-focused outcomes.

This is a permanent full-time position working 40 hours per week, primarily 8.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday, although flexibility to work outside of these hours is required.
