Family Therapy Worker - Intensive Case Management

Stand Childrens Services Tu Maia Whanau

Christchurch, 32 hours/week, 1 year fixed term covering parental leave.

As well as Family Therapists, this position would suit those in other professions, e.g. psychology, counselling and social work looking for an opportunity to develop deeper therapeutic work. We offer full training in systemic Family Therapy; Theraplay; TF-CBT and other modalities.

Applicants should have skills in building therapeutic relationships and will need a good awareness and knowledge of working in a trauma informed way through an attachment lens, child development as well as the importance of working systemically.

Stand Tū Māia works to support tamariki who live with whānau or are in care, and are vulnerable to cumulative harm and have complex needs. Responsibilities will include working with a variety of cultures including Māori and Pacifica, and all staff are expected to demonstrate cultural humility and a commitment to restoration of whānau as a form of Te Tiriti redress and valuing Te Ao Māori.

Professional supervision, both internally and externally are valued and provided. You will have:

  • The ability to work independently utilising tools and theories to inform practice
  • A high standard of literacy demonstrated in case recording, assessment, analysis and child and family plan documentation
  • A full driver's licence
  • Professional Registration and where applicable current practicing certificate
