Senior Facilities Management Officer

Are you passionate about creating safe, functional spaces that bring communities together? Our Community Services team is looking for an experienced Senior Facilities Management Officer to manage Council's community property assets, including community housing and lease portfolios.

  • Full-time role based in Dargaville or Mangawhai, with flexible work-from-home options.

What you'll do:

  • Manage Council's community facilities: oversee repairs, maintenance, compliance and emergency response
  • Lead property agreements: negotiate and manage leases, licences to occupy and development agreements
  • Support community housing: manage tenancies, capital works and ensure compliance with legislation
  • Build strong partnerships: engage with community groups and external providers to deliver positive outcomes
  • Ensure standards and safety: coordinate inspections, schedules and represent Council in tenancy matters

What you'll bring:

  • 5+ years' experience in property or facilities management
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation (Residential Tenancies Act, Building Act, Health and Safety at Work Act, Local Government Act).
  • Proven ability to manage leases, licences and property agreements
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills
  • A full NZ driver licence and flexibility to travel across Kaipara
