We are seeking a skilled Accountant to provide high-quality financial advice, reporting, and support to ICHL and its subsidiary and associate companies. This is a varied and strategic position where your expertise will contribute directly to sound financial decision-making, business planning, and the ongoing performance of key entities across the group.

What you will do:

  • Prepare monthly management and board reports, annual reports, and other financial reporting for Invercargill City Holdings Limited and HWCP Management Limited.
  • Manage general ledger processes, bank and balance sheet reconciliations and debtor management.
  • Prepare cashflow forecasts, annual budgets, treasury management activities, and undertake wider financial modelling and forecasting.
  • Complete GST, FBT and income tax returns, and support asset management, including additions, disposals, revaluations and impairments.
  • Support the preparation of financial statements and liaise with external auditors.
  • Provide financial advice and analysis to support planning, initiatives and key decision-making.
  • Contribute to improvements across financial systems, processes and reporting frameworks, and provide support to business users and the Invercargill City Council finance team.

What you will bring:

  • A Bachelor of Commerce (or equivalent) majoring in Accounting.
  • Post Graduate Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand Chartered Accountant designation - or equivalent.
  • A minimum of three years' post graduate experience in management and financial accounting within large and diverse organisations.
  • A strong understanding of accounting and reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex information and determine the business implications.
  • Strong computer skills with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience providing recommendations, influencing stakeholders, driving planning and performance management and supporting strategic decision-making.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

This is a permanent full-time position working 40 hours per week, primarily 8.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday.
