About the role
Do you love the water and want to make a real difference in your community? Selwyn Aquatic Centre is looking for passionate, energetic people to join our team as Swim School Instructors.

What you'll do:
- Deliver engaging Learn to Swim programmes that help participants thrive.
- Create a positive, encouraging atmosphere for families and swimmers.
- Adapt lessons to meet diverse needs and celebrate progress.
We have multiple shifts available; you can apply for one or several, you must be available for at least one weekend day.
Monday 3.15pm - 6.15pm
Tuesday 3.15pm - 6.15pm
Wednesday 3.15pm - 6.15pm
Thursday 3.15pm - 6.15pm
Friday 3.15pm - 6.15pm
Saturday 8.15am-1:00pm (includes a 30 - minute unpaid break)
Sunday 8.15am-1:00pm (includes a 30 - minute unpaid break)
About you
You're enthusiastic, approachable, and love working with people of all ages. You bring energy and positivity to every lesson, and you're committed to helping others succeed. You're flexible, proactive, and thrive in a team environment—but you're just as confident working independently.
To be successful in this role you will be committed to completing all training required, as follows:
Must be available: (Monday 19th 9am - 1pm) - (Tuesday 20th. 9am -1pm) - (Wednesday 21st 9.am - 4.30pm) (Friday 23rd 1pm - 5pm) (January 2026)
- Ready to complete training and jump in feet first
- Comfortable working with preschool and school-aged kids
- A team player who values swim safety
- Great communicator and problem-solver

If you are short-listed, we will contact you to arrange a trial lesson. Candidates who successfully complete the trial will be invited to a formal interview.
