We're currently looking for a Multi-Skilled Operator to join our high-performing civil construction team in Oamaru. If you take pride in precision work, enjoy variety in your day and are ready to make a real impact across a range of projects we want to hear from you!

As our Multi-Skilled Operator, you'll be front and centre in the action - operating machinery with confidence and taking the lead on essential site tasks. From trenching and drainage to earthworks and construction, your experience with civil plant and equipment will help drive our projects forward.
What you'll be doing:
- Operating a range of civil plant and vehicles (excavators, rollers, loaders, trucks) as licensed.
- Carrying out earthworks and site preparation for minor civil projects (driveways, carparks, trenches).
- Assisting with service trenching and utility installation, including safe excavation and backfilling.
- Performing hydrovac operations for daylighting and non-destructive digging (if experienced).
- Supporting hard landscaping tasks such as edging, paving, and small retaining structures.
- Undertaking manual labour when required (boxing, concrete finishing, site cleanup).
- Completing plant pre-start checks and basic maintenance.
- Following site plans and levels under direction of the Foreperson.
- Maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
- Communicating effectively with the site team and adapting to changing tasks.
What we're looking for:
- Proven experience operating civil plant in civil construction
- Class 4 licence (preferred) with W, T, R endorsements (we're open to training the right candidates).
- Previous experience in drainage, roading, or general earthworks is desirable.
- A safety-first mindset and commitment to quality.
- Someone who's reliable, motivated, and a strong team player.
- Some travel within the Waitaki region will be required.
