About the role:

Selwyn District Council is on the hunt for a Reserves Officer—someone who can turn parks into places where the community comes alive.

You'll be the go-to person for everything reserves-related. Think:

Helping sports clubs, schools, and volunteers make the most of our parks. Getting out and about (yes, actual fresh air!) to check sites and solve problems. Coordinating events, working bees, and community activities. Sharing updates, gathering feedback, and making sure our green spaces are loved by all.

  • Community Connector: You'll help our community enjoy our facilities, plan events, and feel supported.
  • On-the-Ground Guru: Visit reserves, check conditions, and make sure everything's safe and welcoming. Spot issues early and help resolve them before they become problems.
  • Event Extraordinaire: Coordinate working bees, community activities, and small-scale projects that make our parks even better.
  • Voice of the People: Share Council updates, gather feedback, and champion ideas that reflect what our residents want.
  • Team Player: Work alongside other Parks and Reserves Officers to deliver upgrades and improvements that make a real difference.
