About the role:

At Tasman District Council, our love for our region inspires us as we constantly strive to make it an even better place for our communities.

Based in Richmond, this role assists Council staff with the development and implementation of engagement programmes that allow effective and diverse community participation in Council's decision-making. You will also lead the regional coordination of the Tasman Youth Council to ensure young people have an opportunity to positively contribute to their communities and inform Council's decisions.

A big part of the position is facilitating collaboration between community organisations and agencies to encourages self-led, community-driven solutions.

About you:

You will have a relevant tertiary qualification and at least three years' experience in community recreation, development/engagement or event management and a good understanding of the local government sector and its obligations regarding community engagement. You will also have the confidence and connections to hit the ground running and be a valuable contributor to this small, but efficient, team.
