About the Role - This is a permanent part-time position working 53.5 hours per fortnight and includes some weekend work and school holiday availability, with occasional extra hours to cover leave.

You'll support the Branch Librarian in delivering exceptional customer service for both library and Council services, ensuring visitors enjoy a friendly, efficient experience. Libraries today are more than books—we need someone adaptable, tech-savvy, eager to learn, and confident engaging with all ages.

Hours of work will be discussed at the interview.

This busy, front-line position offers plenty of variety: issuing and returning items, processing reserves and interloans, answering enquiries, handling calls, updating the CRM system, and shelving books.

About You - You have a strong customer service ethic, work well in a team, and hold a qualification such as University Entrance. You understand and appreciate the Treaty of Waitangi and cultural considerations and bring experience in customer service and cash handling.

Applicants for this position must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand, therefore must have NZ residency or hold a valid NZ work visa. In terms of residence class visa applications, priority will be given where the applicant is in New Zealand.
