Intermediate Asset Engineer

We're seeking an Intermediate Asset Engineer to strengthen Kaipara's roading network. This role blends technical expertise with a commitment to better community outcomes - all in one of New Zealand's most beautiful districts.

What you'll be doing:

  • Supporting the development and delivery of asset management plans and maintenance programmes
  • Working closely with contractors and stakeholders to ensure consistent service levels across the district
  • Reviewing engineering drawings, contribute to tender documentation, and monitor contract performance
  • Assisting with project planning and execution, and provide technical input to policies and strategies
  • Maintaining the roading asset database and champion continuous improvement in asset management practices

What we're looking for:

  • A relevant qualification (Bachelor or Diploma in Engineering or equivalent).
  • Interest in roading infrastructure operations and maintenance.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships.
  • Problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and sound time management.
  • A full, clean NZ driver's licence and willingness to travel across Kaipara.
