Manager, Customer Support

Kaipara District Council

Shape the future of customer experience at Kaipara District Council.

We're looking for a confident and capable leader to take ownership of our Customer Support function. This is a permanent, full-time role based in either Dargaville or Mangawhai, where you'll lead a dedicated team, drive service excellence, and ensure our customers receive the support they need.

What you'll do:

  • Lead and develop a high-performing Customer Support team, fostering excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure outstanding service delivery, meeting agreed standards and reflecting Council values.
  • Oversee key systems and contracts, including contact centre technology and out-of-hours services.
  • Drive innovation and process improvements to enhance customer experience.
  • Resolve complex customer issues with sound judgment and professionalism.

What we're looking for:

  • A proven leader with experience managing customer service or contact centre teams and a track record of coaching and developing people.
  • Extensive knowledge of customer contact management systems and processes.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills under pressure.
  • Tech-savvy with experience in contact centre systems and data-driven improvements.
  • A customer-focused mindset committed to continuous improvement.
