Our friendly Financial Services team are seeking a part time Payroll Specialist for 13 hours per week to join them for a 12 month period.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Provide high quality, responsive payroll support to management and employees across Council entities and external agencies.
- Ensure payroll services are provided in a professional manner within agreed timeframes.
- Ensure all leave transactions and entitlements are correctly applied, analysed and all changes verified.
- Provide consistent, concise and accurate Payroll reports on a regular and ad hoc basis.
- Support and assist pay function while implementing a new integrated HRIS payroll system.
- Contribute to review, testing and implementation of new process.
What you will bring:
- Minimum of five years' experience as a Payroll practitioner, preferably within a medium to large organisation.
- An excellent understanding of employment legislation, including the Holidays Act 2003 and its complications.
- Solid experience using complex computer-based payroll systems.
- Strong planning and organisational skills.
- NCEA Level 3 pass in English, Mathematics and Computing or equivalent
- Intermediate to advance Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word and Excel, including experience with functions and the use of and spreadsheet
