Team Leader - Processing

Our friendly Financial Services team are seeking a Team Leader - Processing.

We are looking for the right person to lead our processing team to ensure the delivery of high quality day to day transactional services (accounts payable, accounts receivable, rates, property database and debt collection) within Council.

The hours of work for this position are 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Ensuring that the day to day operations of the finance processing team are carried out to a high standard, while being prepared to roll up your sleeves and help the team during workflow peaks.
  • Monitoring deadlines to ensure tasks are completed on time and efficiently
  • Lead, coach and motivate team members, ensuring all staff are appropriately inducted into their roles, and are adequately trained and well supported.
  • Have experience in financial transaction processing and well-developed knowledge of relevant finance ERP systems, as well as standard applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Responding to queries from external ratepayers, debtors and creditors, and providing technical rates guidance where required.
  • Managing debt collection processes to ensure overdue debt levels are maintained within acceptable limits.

What you will bring:

  • At least 4-5 years' experience in an office administration position, preferably where you have led and motivated others in your team.
  • Have a basic business or accounting qualification.
  • A basic working knowledge of the relevant rates legislation, in particular the Local Government (Rating) Act 2002.
  • Strong attention to detail, with strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Experience supporting both management and teams with day-to-day enquiries
  • Enjoy a varied working role and have the ability to multi-task and problem solve with great time management skills.
  • The ability to build positive working relationships with a range of staff from different Council departments.
  • Working knowledge and experience using relevant ERP systems, including TechnologyOne, Xtracta and Infor Pathway.
