Stand Tū Māia is seeking an exceptional Occupational Therapist to join our Kahukura Ora Service. We provide a bi cultural, trauma‑capable, holistic alternative to state care supporting tamariki and whānau on the edge of care. Our specialist service is tailored to children (mainly 5-12 years) and families at high risk of poor life outcomes, many with previous system involvement. At the heart of our mahi are healing relationships, cultural humility and a commitment to Te Tiriti‑led whānau restoration.
What you'll bring
We welcome applicants from an Occupational Therapy profession with:
- Openness to Te Ao Māori and commitment to bicultural practice
- Ability to engage deeply, motivate, and offer consistent kindness
- Experience with complex family dynamics
- Understanding of trauma and its bio-psycho-social impacts on child development and attachment
- Strong partnership, collaboration and professional supervision practice
- Ability to work independently with diverse populations
- High‑quality recording, assessment and intervention planning skills
- Professional registration with a current practising certificate
- Full driver's licence
