Working in our purpose built facility in central Whangārei we are currently looking for a Sport Development Officer to work within a supportive team managing and promoting the Active Recreation & Sport Strategy providing direction for WDC on how to meet current and future active recreation and sports facility needs for the district.
As part of the Parks and Recreation Team the successful applicant will also ensure effective asset management of existing sports and recreation assets across the district.
If you think you have what it takes to be successful in this role and are eager for us to consider your application, you will need to be able to demonstrate the following attributes:
- Tertiary qualification relevant to asset management, sports and recreation or community collaboration and engagement.
- Experience in community engagement / collaboration preferably within the sports or recreation sector.
- Demonstrated experience / understanding in management of sport and recreation assets / facilities.
- Demonstrated experience in contract and contractor management.
- Experience in financial forecasting, and management of budgets.
