Senior / Project Engineer - Fabric Maintenance (Scaffolding)

To better support the needs of our existing clients and to help grow future workload, we are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join the Fabric Maintenance team.

At DIALOG Fitzroy, we design, build and maintain complex industrial assets across New Zealand and Australia. With over 65 years of experience, we've built a reputation as a trusted partner to clients in energy, petrochemicals, dairy, pharmaceuticals, geothermal, water treatment, and tank terminals.

About the role

As a Senior / Project Engineer, you will play an important role in planning, organising, and coordinating project activities. You'll work closely with Project Managers, internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure all work is delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Initially, this role will support our Scaffold and Rigging team, with scope to expand across the wider Fabric Maintenance portfolio as the business grows.

This is a dynamic position combining project management, customer relationship management, business development, and operational planning. You will work directly with current and prospective customers to understand their needs and deliver efficient, safe, and practical solutions. Regular customer visits and relationship-building will be essential, along with accountability for securing new work and overseeing project delivery across multiple sites.

About you

You'll bring a strong blend of technical expertise, industry experience, and interpersonal skills. To succeed, you will have:

Technical & Industry Experience

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in scaffolding preferred

OR

  • Minimum 5 years' project oversight, project management experience in a relevant discipline desirable
  • Operational and/or Logistical experience & skills desirable
  • Strong background within industrial, engineering or maintenance environments.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, MS Project, PowerBI etc
  • Site Safe or equivalent H&S training relevant to managing subcontractors.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent time management and organisational capability.
  • Excellent cost control and ability to keep projects on budget capability.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Clear, confident communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships across teams and with customers.
  • Proven ability to tender, secure, and deliver work successfully.
  • A genuine customer‑focused mindset.
